Bangalore, August 14 (Odisha.in) The festival of ‘Nuakhai or the ceremonial eating of new grains will be celebrated on coming September 30 by people from western Orissa at Bangalore Asia’s fastest growing cosmopolitan city.
“At least 2500 people from western Orissa live in Bangalore. While most of them work in Information technology sectors, some are working in other sectors” Biswajit Pradhan one of the organisors told Odisha.in.
“We have been organizing this festival as ‘Nuakhai Bhet Ghat since past eight years here. While in the past we use to organize it in a house, this time we are going to celebrate it in DRDO (Defence Research Development Organisation) campus here, he said.
This year the feast we are organising will include a special item Hendua patalghanta chutchuta (mixture of tamato, dried bambooshoots, garlic and salt), he said.
We have launched a website where people can register to participate in this celebration, he said.
