Keonjhar, November 9 (Odisha.in) Police and mining officials jointly raided a train in the district of Keonjhar and seized it after they found huge iron ore illegally loaded on it, official said.
The train containing ore worth Rs. 35 lakh was seized at Jurudi railway station about 90 kms from Keonjhar on Wednesday. However no one was arrested nor have the mining officials filed any complaint in the police station.
The ore was transported to Bandana Global Industries and about 800 tonne seized from the wagon and about 600 tonne seized from the siding ready for loading district collector Bipin Bihari Mohapatra told Odisha.in.
As the demand of iron ores in the world market rising, the iron theft from Joda- Barbil mining sector proportionately rising. After road the mining mafias using rail line for transportation of illegal iron ores, he said.
