Bhubaneswar, November 17 (Odisha.in) Orissa government said that it had no official information either from the Rajasthan Court or concerned state government relating to suspended DGP,B.B. Mohanty having been declared as absconder nor any fresh issuance of NBW against him.
“We have not received any communication from any Rajasthan Court or concerned state Government “, said Tarun Kanti Mishra, Principal Secretary, Home Department, Orissa.
However, he clarified that,” whatever the court wants us to do we will follow it faithfully”. Asserting that Orissa Police or Government has not shielded B.B.Mohanty, Mishra said,” state police has done every thing on its part, but it has not been able to locate him”.
” A number of team of police officers have visited various places in J & K, Ranchi, Mumbai, Bangalore, West Bengal and all over the country”, he informed.
The senior Orissa cop is on the run being accused of shielding his fugitive son Bittihotra convicted and jailed for raping a German girl and later jumped parole.
Mohanty has been eluding the Orissa and Rajasthan police for the last five months.Mohanty, who could not be arrested due to some reason by the Orissa Police later had gone on hide and suspended from services.
On the reported fleeing of Bittihotra to abroad via Nepal, the Home Secretary said,“We have no idea”.
