Bhubaneswar,Nov.30 ( Odisha.in )All Orissa Madrasa Teachers’ Association held rally and dharana before Orissa Assembly on Thursday demanding grant-in-aid for all the 88 Madrasas in the State.
Dr.S.S. Ali, advisor of the Association told Odisha.in that they have become victims of step-motherly attitude of the Government and would be compelled to resort to agitate if the government will not fulfill their legitimate demands.
The demonstrators submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister. The memorandum alleged discrimination on the part of the State Government.
According to the 2004 grants-in-aid order, 1,294 High Schools, 685 Upper Primary Schools and 140 UP Schools have been given aid and the Government has announced to provide aid to 106 Girls’ High Schools. However the Madrasas have been ignored.
SF Momim , President of the Association said that the Madrasa teachers want equal treatment with other aided institutions .
