The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rainfall across Odisha on Sunday (July 8).
The Regional Meteorological Department, Bhubaneswar, in its forecast, said a low pressure area is developing over the Bay of Bengal which might led to heavy rainfall in several places of the state on Sunday.
In the next 24 hours, coastal Odisha might experience rains and thundershowers, while the northern and interior parts of the state will receive heavy rainfall on July 9 (Monday) and 10 (Tuesday).
According to reports, Odisha received an average rainfall of 1.3 mm till July 6.
Malkangiri received the highest rainfall of 12.88 mm, while 12.33 mm rainfall was recorded in Balasore.
In June, Odisha registered 30% deficit rainfall compared to 2% deficit rainfall witnessed same month last year.
