Angul, November 10 (Odisha.in) Dinesh Kumar Saraogi, executive director, Jindal Steel and Power Limited (JSPL), Angul, has been appointed additional director and whole-time director of the company.
The board of directors, in its meeting held in New Delhi on November 9 has appointed him at the position with immediate effect. Saraogi had taken over the baton as ED in June this year. JSPL, Angul is coming up with a steel plant of 12.5 million tonne per annum in phases and 810 MW of power plant.
Saraogi has been associated with the OP Jindal Group for more than 24 years and he was heading the JSPL’s Plant at Oman before taking over Angul unit. He has earned international reputation for making the US$ 500 million Plant in Sultanate of Oman operational 6 months ahead of its schedule after its acquisition by JSPL.
He was spearheading the establishment of company’s Angul plant as executive president from 2007 to 2010 before he was assigned with the challenging responsibility of making the Oman Plant operational.
He took over as the head of Angul business unit with effect from June 2012, few units of the plant have been commissioned, and expectedly, the remaining projects would be commissioned in coming months under his leadership.
Holder of a first class degree holder in mechanical engineering in 1981, is a name to reckon with in the steel sector. For studying the plants and technologies, he has visited several plants in India and abroad in the countries in USA, Holland, Austria, France, Thailand, Germany, Korea, Africa, China, Southi Arabia ,Oman, UAE, and many other countries.
