Bhubaneswar Jan 5 (odisha.in) On the occasion of 28th Foundation Day of NALCO, Shri Lalit Mansingh will deliver the 7th Edition of NALCO Foundation Day Lecture at Nalco Bhavan Auditorium on January 7 at 11.30 am.
He will speak on ‘Emergence of India in Global Perspective’. The previous eminent speakers who delivered NALCO Foundation Day Lectures were: Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, Dr. Sam Pitroda, Prof. Yash Pal, Dr. Abid Hussain, Gen. Shankar Roychoudhury and Dr. J.J. Irani.
Shri Lalit Mansingh, who hails from Orissa, has served as India’s Foreign Secretary, Ambassador to the United States and High Commissioner to the United Kingdom. Shri Mansingh joined the Indian Foreign Service in 1963 after securing the first position in the All India Civil Service Examination.
After his initial posting in Geneva, he went on to serve as Deputy Chief of Mission in the Indian Embassies in Kabul, Brussels, and Washington. Besides Washington and London, he has been Head of Mission in the United Arab Emirates and in Nigeria.
In a separate programme on the same day at 7 pm, hockey star Dilip Tirkey and noted sand sculptor Sudarsan Pattnaik shall be felicitated with a cash prize of Rs.50,000/- each, at Nalco Nagar Auditorium, Bhubaneswar.
