Bhubaneswar, November20 ( Odisha.in) Orissa Assembly Speaker Maheswar Mohanty, on Tuesday adjourned the proceedings of the House, only 16 minutes after the sitting of the House for the second day, due to unruly scenes.
As soon as the house sat for the day of the Winter Season, Congress and other opposition members stood up and shouted slogans demanding debate on the police excess on teachers and farmers.
They displayed placards in support of their demands and highlighting the alleged misdeeds of the Naveen Patnaik Government including Konark gang rape, police excess on farmers and teachers, liquor deaths, mark-sheet scandals etc.
The treasury bench members also shouted at the peak of their voice protesting against actions of the opposition. Such unruly scene continued for over ten minutes.
Finding it difficult to run the proceedings of the House smoothly,Speaker adjourned the House till Wednesday 11 a..m.
