Bhubaneswar,
October 29 (Odisha.in) Orissa State Disaster Mitigation Authority Monday
launched its new dynamic portal www.osdma.org.
In this portal, OSDMA has provided all the information
related to its activities.
The portal has illustrated the vulnerability of every part
of the state to different disasters and steps it has taken to raise the public
awareness as well as the preparedness of the vulnerable communities.
The soft copy of the
training programs have been
archived for people to download at
any given point of time
from www.osdma.org.
This will also become a major input to the Community Based
Disaster Preparedness and Capacity Building
in the state to overcome any disaster in a meaningful way. The ambitious plan
is to make the contents reach the common citizen in real time, an official
said.
The web portal of OSDMA will also be used by the agency as
tool for reporting, monitoring & interacting with their field staff.
The information received to OSDMA through the web portal on
the available data entered by the
field offices will serve
as a real time
Knowledge and information to the
citizens within the state and Outside,
an official said.
Chief minister Naveen Pattnaik attended the meeting
launching ceremony as chief guest minister Revenue & Disaster Management,
Food Supplies & Consumer Welfare Manmohan Samal presided the function.Women & Child
development Department minister Pramila Mallick attended the function as the guest
of Honour.
The prominent among other attended the ceremony include G.
Behera from NRSA, T. Srnivasa Kumar from INCOIS , Dr. R. Sundaravadivelu from
IIT Madras and Hari Kumar from Geo-Hazard International and other officials of OSDMA and Consultants
from CSM
