Bhuabneswar,Oct.11 ( Odisha.in) Janardan Pati, State Secretary of CPI(M) and a number of trade union leaders on Thursday demanded scraping of loan waiver infavour of IMFA group which belongs to the family members of BJD Rajya Sabha member Baijayanta Panda .
The IMFA group has however refuted the allegation and said the matter is subjudice and they will not comment on that.
Addressing a huge gathering of farmers,workers and laborers at the lower P.M.G. Square , Bhubaneswar , Janardan Pati said that the banks and government agencies were auctioning the lands and properties of small farmers, small traders and others whey they do not pay their load..
As a result of which a number of poor farmers and workers were committing suicide. On the other hand the government and 10 nationalised banks have waived huge loans amounting to Rs 23,000.00 crores due on IMFA group, he alleged.
The foundation of conspiracy for waiving such a hue amount was laid during the last National democratic alliance (NDA) government at the center.
Pati alleged that using his political contacts, Panda could manipulate to hush up such a huge amount of public money.
He urged upon the Union Government to institute C.B.I. probe into this scandalous deal and find out under what circumstances such a huge amount of loan could be waived.
He demanded that the persons behind this scam should be identified and action should be taken against them without delay.
Speakers like trade union leader Dwaika Mohan Mishra, Naba Kishore Mohanty etc. also threatened to carry on State wide agitation against the Government until the Government scraps the waiver of loan to the Pandas.
In the meanwhile the CPI General Secretary, A.B. Bardhan in a statement have demanded similar action against the IMFA group and its promoters.
