Sambalpur, Sept. 13 (Odisha.in) Vigilance sleuths caught the veterinary surgeon of Rengali Veterinary Hospital Dr. Bhagirathi Biswal red handed on Wednesday and recovered graft amount of Rs. 2000 from him.
He had received it from a PMRY beneficiary. Dr. Biswal has been arrested and produced in Court.
Reports said that Aswini Pradhan of village Baradungri in Rengali Block had approached Dr. Biswal for two certificates pertaining to two cows he had purchased under PMRY to enable him to cover his cattle under insurance.
However, Dr. Biswal demanded Rs. 1000 per cattle, which is mandatory. Harassed Pradhan informed the Vigilance Department who laid a trap and recovered the chemically treated amount from the possession of Dr. Biswal.
