Kendrapada, September 9 (Odisha.in) A minor college student has been allegedly languishing in the Sub-Jail in Kendrapada since more than one year thanks to the gross negligence on the parts of the police.
Bibhuti Bhusan Das a 16-year old + 2 art student of Madanpur college in Rajnagar was arrested last year on the alleged charges of killing a 50 year old farmer Ghanashyam Das of village Natara under Rajnagar block of Kendrapada district.
“The police with an ulterior motive falsely described Bibhuti as 19 years old in the police records for which the minor’s bail was rejected by the court and he has been languishing in the jail, human right activist and president of Manava Seba Parisad Manoj Satapathy told Odisha.in.
I have recently sent letters to the Chairman of National Human Right Commission and the Chairman of State Human Right Commission seeking justice for the boy, he said.
The state has two juvenile homes in Rourkela and Berhampur for offenders under minor age.
