Bhuabneswar, Auguast 31( Odisha.in ): Director general of police (Home Guard and Fire Services) Bidya Bhusan Mohanty received the second blow from Orissa Government as a day after framing charges the Home Department on Thursday served a show-cause notice asking him to reply within 30 days as to why he is not joining his duty.
Mohanty was suspended on August 24 after a non-bailable warrant was issued against him by a Rajasthan court for allegedly abating and sheltering his son Bittihotra convicted by a First Track Court in Rajsthan for seven years imprisonment for allegedly raping a German lady student.
Bittihotra who was released on parole after D.G.P. Mohanty signed a security bond for Rs 50,000, has jumped the parole since over six months.
In the meanwhile the Orissa Government have realised the security amount from Mohanty’s bank account and salary and have deposited in the Rajsthan court.
He has been accused of not giving any information to the Government regarding his visit to Jaipur in November 2006 to get his son released on parole.
Mohanty has been charged with going on unauthorised leaves in a bid to nullify execution of the NBW by the Orissa police on the orders of a court in Rajsthan. Mohanty too did not pay any importance to the Government’s rejection of his leave application.
Meanwhile, special teams constituted by Soumendra Priyadarshi, S.P. Cuttack to trace Mohanty and his son failed on its mission for about a week.
The team searched for Mohanty and his son in different places in Orissa and Jaipur for but failed to ascertain whether the two are in Orissa or in Rajasthan .
