Jajpur,Jan 29(Odisha.in) Former bureaucrat Jatish Chandra Mohanty has few takers in his own home turf. He has failed to lure the people of Kuakhia and Jaraka, in his home assembly constituency, Dharmasala in particular.

The President of newly formed political outfit ‘Samrudh Orissa’ must have returned with a broken heart from his own land.

Rahamba, a village under Rasulpur block, consists of Dharmasala constituency is the nativity of the bureaucrat turned politician.

The much-publicized public meeting at the heart of his birthplace came as a cropper. Attendance at a public meeting at Jaraka bazaar was actually less than 300, said an onlooker.

Earlier, the organizers had claimed that more than three thousands would attend the meet. Rather, about 50 motorcyclists took him from Chandikhole to Jaraka on a procession along National Highway no-5. He also inaugurated two party offices both at Jaraka and Kuakhia bazaar on Tuesday.

Talking to reporters Mohanty said, “We have launched a month-long Janmabhoomi Vikash Yatra to highlight the 'failures' of the Naveen Patnaik led BJD-BJP Government from to day.

During the Yatra, I along with other party leaders will traverse all the gram panchayats of the whole State within 40 days and appeal to the people to vote us to power to eradicate poverty from the State in five years.” Mohanty added ‘Samrudh Orissa’ released a charge sheet against the Orissa Chief Minister on his eight-year’s misrule and demanded his immediate resignation.

He said due to shortsighted ness of our political leaders, Orissa is suffering a lot and is the poorest state of the country.

"Naveen Patnaik Government has failed in every sphere - from agriculture to industries, while atrocities on women, rape incidents in the state capital and looting and dacoities have become rampant and poverty all pervasive," party president added.

"A televised campaign will be part of the Janmabhoomi Vikash Yatra, in which we would broadcast the manifesto of our party," he further added.

Mr.Mohanty repeated his earlier announcement that Samrudh Orissa will field candidates to contest in all the 21 Lok Sabha and 147 Assembly constituencies in Orissa.

"The party will not contest elections if we can't eradicate poverty in five years of power." Mr.Mohanty thundered.
