The Odisha government may partner with internet giant Google for developing startups in the state.
Pertinently, Karnataka, Goa and Telangana already have partnership with Google’s Cloud Startup programme for supporting startups in the three states.
The Odisha government is also reportedly considering similar partnership with Google.
The Cloud Startup Program by Google offers free credits to early stage startup companies and helps them scale and secure their infrastructure.
The startups are selected based on certain criteria.
Meanwhile, the Odisha government has identified around 250 startups for getting mentored under Google.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has already started Startup Odisha initiative with a vision to emerge as one of the Top 3 “Startup Hubs” in India by 2020 through strategic partnership, conducive ecosystem, investment and policy intervention.
The initiative also aims to unleash the potential of women entrepreneurship in Odisha by encouraging at least 33% of the Startups with founders/co-founders as women, as stated by the official website.
The Odisha government also wants to create enabling environment and supporting eco-system that facilitates at least 1,000 startups in next five years in the state.
