Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Odisha on May 26 to celebrate four years of his government at the Centre.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Odisha state president Basanta Kumar Panda said Modi will address a public meeting at Bali Jatra ground on the bank of Mahanadi river in Cuttack on the occasion of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government completing four years in office in New Delhi.
The Prime Minister will arrive at the Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar around 3.30 pm on May 26 and fly to Cuttack by helicopter.
Modi will leave for Delhi from Bhubaneswar after the public meeting.
Pertinently, the NDA government came to power at the Centre on May 26, 2014.
Modi’s visit is significant because both Lok Sabha and Odisha Assembly elections are due next year.
Though BJP performed well in 2017 panchayat elections in Odisha, the party faced defeat in the recent Bijepur bypoll.
Meanwhile, on Tuesday (May 22), Odisha chief secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi held a high-level review meeting on the preparations prior to the PM visit.
State Home Secretary Asit Tripathy said all arrangements have been made and adequate security personnel will be deployed during Modi’s visit to Odisha.
