New Delhi, May 22 (Odisha.in) Odisha born film producer and promoter Jitendra Mishra has been named as a jury for the May 25 – June 2 Zlin Film Festival in the city of Zlín, Prague and other towns in the Czech Republic.
Zlin Film Festival is considered as one of world’s oldest and largest film festivals of its kind. Mishra will be Jury in the International Competition of Feature Films for Children and youth along with four other jurors from across the globe.
This is a significant international event which has an excellent reputation and holds lots of respect. The festival screenings are conducted not only in Zlin, but also in many other towns in the Czech Republic, Mishra told Odisha.in.
Each year the festival presents around 300 films from more than 50 countries around the world. Since 2010 festival attendance has exceeded 95,000 children and adults.
“I feel honored to be invited as Jury at the 58th edition of the festival while the country Chezh Republic is celebrating its 100th year in 2018. I would like to congratulate and thank the artistic director Marketa Pasmova , senior programmer Jaroslava Hynstova and team for this” he said.
“It will definitely strengthen our cross-country cultural exchange opportunities also among our own festivals”.
Born in Titlagarh, Odisha, Jitendra Mishra is one of the few Indian film producers and promoters who have been able to create a benchmark in ‘Alternative methods of Film Production, Distribution and Promotion at international level.
Committed towards meaningful cinema, Jitendra has been associated only with socially relevant films made for children and youth which are a balance of the right content and creativity.
He has already been associated with the production, distribution and promotion of more than 110 films in all categories.
