Bhubaneswar, May 18 (Odisha.in) The Centre has approved setting up two new medical colleges in Odisha.
Union health minister J P Nadda informed that his department has approved establishment of two 100-seat government medical colleges in Balasore and Balangir districts during the academic year 2018-19.
These hospitals will be set up under centrally sponsored scheme – “Establishment of New Medical Colleges attached with existing District/Referral hospitals”.
In another development, the union health ministry approved confirmation of conditional permission issued to Pandit Raghunath Murmu Medical College and Hospital in Baripada in 2018-19.
The permission for admission of second batch at the government medical college for 2018-19 was also renewed.
