BJD MP Baijayant Panda steps up attack on chief minister and his party president Naveen Patnaik. Panda appears to be desperate to be thrown out from the BJD. He appears to be in no mood to stay back. Here are the five proofs.
1. The four-time MP in a Facebook post openly challenges the stand of chief minister Naveen Patnaik, which nobody has dared awhile staying in the regional party.
Not even Naveen’s adviser-turned-enemy Pyarimohan Mohapatra who alleged to have planned a failed coup to oust the regional satrap from power till he was in BJD. Remember Bijoy Mohapatra opened his front against Naveen only after his unceremonial exit.
2.Panda says, “It was very disheartening to see my leader, whom I have admired and supported for more than two decades, not even consider what havoc is being committed by one bad apple in the system.”
It means since Naveen stood behind his trusted bureaucrat, Panda no longer admires and support him. Panda can no longer identify himself as member of Naveen’s team.
3. Panda challenges Naveen on the latter’s comment of “people who don’t have other issues make such allegations (of bureaucrats running BJD).” Panda chooses to bring in Biju to prove Naveen wrong.
“Did my idol, the late Biju babu also not have any other issues when he had told the public that “such officers should be beaten” by them,” Panda writes on his Facebook wall.
4.Challenging Naveen again, Panda says, “By now doesn’t every child in Odisha know about the said officer’s massive corruption, encouragement of goondagiri, protection of criminals, interference in politics, and much worse?
With this Panda seems to have dared Naveen either to throw him or his trusted ‘corrupt’ lieutenant. Obviously, Naveen can’t afford to throw out the IAS officer, which was clear from Naveen’s statement in response to Panda’s outburst.
5. BJP’s tallest leader in Odisha, Union minister Dharmendra Pradhan, wishes his “friend” Baijayant on the latter’s birthday while no senior BJD leader mustered courage to greet him either on Facebook or twitter.
The birthday boy not only thanked Dharmendra but also tried to send a strong message about his spoiled relation with BJD brass by mentioning “when friends forget…”. It is only a matter of time before Naveen throws Panda out of BJD and the latter wears the saffron robe. Be with us to know when and how!
