Bhubaneswar, Jan 30 (Odisha.in) The net profit of Nalco, India’s third largest aluminium producer has jumped 133 per cent to Rs.199 crore for third quarter ended Dec against Rs.51 crore it achieved during the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal, the company said on Wednesday.
The net sales also increased to Rs.1670 crore, against Rs.1430 crore the company registered during the comparative quarter of the previous fiscal, the company said in a statement.
The reviewed financial result for the quarter was announced after it was taken on record by the designated committee of the Board in a meeting held in New Delhi earlier of the day.
The net profit and net sales for the 9 months ended December work out to Rs.347 crore and Rs.4974 crore respectively, against the corresponding figures of Rs.567 crore and Rs.4747 crore of the previous fiscal.
During the first nine months, NALCO produced 12.70 lakh tonnes of alumina hydrate, as against 11.77 lakh tonnes achieved during the comparable period of the previous fiscal.
The metal production was however slightly less at 3.05 lakh tonnes as planned, against 3.09 lakh tonnes registered during the comparable nine months of the previous fiscal, the company said.
