Bhubaneswar, Nov 8 (Odisha.in) The 80th birth anniversary of Late Pradyumna Bal, noted parliamentarian, journalist and founder, president of KIIT and KISS was Thursday observed at KISS campus.
Rahul Dravid, former captain of Indian Cricket Team, Saswati Bal, president, KIIT and KISS; Dr. A. Samanta, founder, prof. P. P. Mathur, VC, KIIT University; R. N. Dash, secretary, KISS, Dr. P. K. Routaray, CEO KISS and P. K. Das, director, livelihood, KISS graced the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Dravid said, “It’s a great pleasure to see a sea of young faces, including staff members, who have got together to celebrate the occasion”. Paying rich tribute to Bal, Dr. Samanta, said that his most important message was that we should not be materialist.
Helping the weaker sections of the society was his nature, said Saswati Bal.
Socialistic ideals, struggle and sacrifice of Pradyumna Bal for the people, especially for tribal, remain examples for other to emulate, said Prof. Mathur and R. N. Dash in their deliberations.
Among others who were present on the occasion include, Ms. Bratati Bal, Pratyush Bal, Sambit Bal, Dr. Sasmitarani Samanta, Registrar, KIIT University, and Dr. Satyendra Patnaik, Rector, KIIT.
