Toronto July 18 (Odisha.in) Jibanjit Tripathy has been elected as the president of the CanOSA (Canada Odisha Society Of Americas).
Tripathy often writes for Odisha.com world’s first and only 24×7 Oriya news portal. Odisha.com also runs two other sites Odisha.in and 36garh.in.
CanOSA is a non-profit socio-cultural organization, established in 1971 and actively involved in promoting integration through social and cultural activities and providing forum for newcomers for adaptation and integration into the Canadian milieu.
A vibrant community of over 500 Odiya families (Orissa, India origin) residing in different parts of Canada, with a strong desire to cradle and nurture the rich Odiya culture, even outside the homeland.
“I am excited to serve as CanOSA’s president,” Tripathy told Odisha.in.
“CanOSA has been gathering momentum over the past few years, and I look forward to working with the CanOSA board members and with CanOSA members to take the organization to new levels” he said.

Tripathy will serve as president in 2008-2010, and director & ex-officio for 2010-2012. He will be a member of the OSA (Orissa Society of the Americas) board of governors throughout his two-year term as president of CanOSA.
Rabindra Nath Sabat, Smaran Das, Dr. Gagan Panigrahi, Suvendu Gantayet have been elected as executives and board of directors.
