Bhubaneswar, July 13 (Odisha.in) Shishir Mishra a Oriya man working in Indian Air Force Sunday jumped from a height of about 6,000 feet to wed a girl in Bhubaneswar.
The 32 years old, a native of Odagaon village in the district of Nayagarh went up along with three of his friends in a Sky Airways helicopter and landed with the help of a parachute at Sahid sporting club located near the house of his fiances Sweta Prusty.
Police had prior information about this unusual event and we had deployed one platoon (around 30 policemen) of policemen in the ground where he landed” deputy commissioner of police Himanshu Lal told Odisha.in.
They jumped from about 6,000 feet and had a free fall before opening the parachute at about 3,500 feet chief pilot of Sky Airways, Captain A.C. Pati said adding that the helicopter carrying them took off from Bhubaneswar air port.
Mishra who works as an aircraft technician with the Indian Air Force said he was always interested to demonstrate his skill in his home state and happy that his mission was successful. “I am happy I did it here”
The tall diver said he has over 10 years of experience in sky diving and earlier created a record by jumping from a height of 15,000 feet with the Indian Tricolour in the United States.
