Bhubaneswar, July 7 (Odisha.in) In a bid to win the hearts of poor Orissa chief minister Naveen Patnaik Monday announced that people under below poverty line in the state would get rice per kg at two rupees from coming August 1.
The rice would be given in a month 25 kg to each family under below poverty line and to people above poverty line in Kalahandi, Koraput and Bolangir area.
The state has about 57 to 58 lakh people listed under BPl and about five lakh under Above Poverty line (APL) in KBK. The congress party has described the announcement as poll gimmick.
