Bhubaneswar, Mar.28.( Odisha.in): CPI (M-L) Liberation General Secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya, termed the allegations of lady assistant marshal Gayatri Panda against Orissa Assembly Speaker, Maheswar Mohanty as ” very serios ” and demanded that the Speaker should be removed immediately.
Talking to Odisha.in Bhattacharjee said since allegations of Gayatri reveals sexual harassment, necessary legal steps should be initiated without delay.
The CPI(M-L) Liberation leader said that his party would observe 1st April as ” Save Orissa Day ” as the State Government and the centre are out to ” destroy ” Orissa. ”
We will go to people and make them aware about the saddist designs of the Manmohan Singh Government as well as that of Naveen Patnaik Government and to prepare them to resist such move.”
Bhattacharya alleged that both the UPA and the NDA are deceiving the people of the country as well as that of Orissa.
The Congress can not shy away from the fact that historically they are responsible for the hunger and starvation deaths in
K-B-K districts.
The much publishised pro-tribal gestures of Rahul Gandhi would not be able to misguide the people of Orissa in any manner, as they are aware about the hard reality.
While condemning the National Mineral Policy drafted by the centre, Bhattacharya ridiculed Orissa Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s ” hypocratic ” stand on the issue.
He blamed Naveen Patnaik for working as an agent of foreign corporate houses like the POSCO, Mittals etc. and promoting them in the State, sacrificing the interests of the poor people of Orissa. He said, his party would expose the ” politics of hypocracy and economic destruction “.
He said that his party has decided to strongly campaign in Orissa, Jharkhand and Chhatishgarh to strengthen the base of the party.
Elaborating his point, the CPI(M-L) Liberation leader said all these States are mineral rich States and democracy is under attack in these States.
Commenting on the loan waiver aspect of the union budget, Bhattacharjee said that though the Finance Minister has announced for waiver of loans on farmers amounting to Rs 60,000.00 crores, he has made a budgetory provision of only Rs 10,000.00 crores.
Since he has announced to implement the loan waiver by 30th June, 2008, his party would monitor to ensure that the Finance Minister keeps his promise.
He demanded that instaed of waiver of bank loan for the farmers having only 2 hectares of land, the Governemnt should waive loans of all the farmers having 4 hectares of land. Loans of all banks and private loans should also be waived. In additionloans on fishermen, poultry farmers etc. should also be waived .
He said that all the districts of all the States should be included under NREGA and budget of Rs 50,000.00 crores should be allotted to each district.
Bhattacharya said, inspite of overwheming opposition to the prposed nuclear agreement through out the nation, Defence Minister Pranab Mukherjee’s stand on the nuclear policy is dangerous. The CPI and CPI-M now should withdraw their support from the UPA Government opposiing to the stand taken by Mukherjee and the Prime Minister.
