Keonjhar, Dec 14 (odisha.in) At least 13 tribal people, including twelve infants, have died in the past few months in Bholbeda village under Joda block 90 kilometers from Keonjhar, official said Friday.
All the children died were under 10 years of age.” The cause of the deaths could be Malaria as blood sample collected from them found positive” additional district medical officer public health Dr. Benudhara Muduli told Odisha.in.
Although eight people died since October and all were infants, at present we have provided adequate health facilities including medicines.
The persons died Champa Munda 4, Amina Munda 2, Madhu Munda 2, Nandia Munda 7 months, Sunia Munda 1, Anita Munda 4, Samara Munda 4, Kuni Munda 3 months, Sunil Munda 3, Narayan Munda 9, Raj Kishore Munda 3, Mochia Munda infant Sunia Munda 50.
More than fifteen are at present suffering in that village. Out of this 8 died in last three months.
CDMO Dr. C.B.Sethy said “I have already taken special measure and now the situation is under control.”
As the area is mining and industries dominated the most of the villages facing acute shortage of drinking water and poor sanitation. Beside pollutions in those area are causing health hazard.
Few months back 12 died in different diseases in Lunagothani under Chamakpur GP in the Joda block.
