Jagatsinghpur, Dec 14 (Odisha.in) The Jagatsinghpur district administration has started initiatives to start survey work in the proposed Posco site in the district despite protest.
The administration conducted several meeting with local revenue officials including revenue inspectors at Paradip circuit house.
Twelve numbers of teams comprising revenue inspectors, amins headed by local tahsildar and additional tahsiladrs have been formed.
They are camping at Kujanga since last Monday. District collector Promoda Kumar Meherda, district rehabilitation officer Surjeet Das who were present in this meeting advised the officials to speed up survey work.
The survey teams have been directed to complete survey work in Posco project areas within 15 days.
The team will conduct survey on encroachment of land, structure, buildings number of trees, home stead of affected of people, ponds, institutions, betel vine, ownership of land and other things coming under encroachment land for fixation of compensation packages to the displaced families.
A survey team led by special land acquisition officer Nrusingh Swain has already been conducting survey on private owned land in Nugaon, Polnag, Bayanalkana, Bhyianpal and submitted same report to government.
Swain said that forest officials and road & building staffs will be included on survey work for evaluation of trees, building and other structures.
The district administration has decided to acquire 4004 acres of land out of which 438 acres are private land and rest is government land. However it has not decided to survey Dhinkia village due to tension in the region.
There are 1219 acres of land including 384 private lands in Dhinikia.
On the other hand, more than 40 to 50 ancillary industries will be established before establishment of Posco steel project so government has directed district administration to acquire lands in other 23 panchayts of Kujnag and Erasama blocks.
Special land acquisition officer Swain has confessed that steps have been taken to demarcate lands at Sijua, Bagadia, Fethpur and other panchayts for said purposes.
