Kendrapada, Dec 13 (Odisha.in) Four persons including three school students sustained sever burn injuries on Thursday when a fast food kiosk owner poured acid on another rival fast food seller in front of Dasarathapur High School in village Dasarathapur under Mangalpur police station in Jajpur district.
All the three injured students were taking fast-food from the food-stall for which they sustained burn injuries.
Since last six months, two fast food sellers were selling food items to the students of the school.
Due to some businesses rivalry between them, Bhagarathi Sahoo a fast food seller poured acid towards another fast food seller, Gobinda Samal, the officer-in-charge of Mangalpur police station Prasanta Kumar Majhi told Odisha.in.
All the three injured students were identified as Rakesh Kar of Ahiyas high school, Alok Sahoo and his elder brother Dipak Sahoo of Dasarathapur high school. They were attending five day long NCC camp in the school.
All the three injured students were reading in class-IX. The condition of all the injured students is stated to be critical.
They were admitted in the government hospital at Jajpur.
The headmistress of Dasarathapur high school, Bidutlata Das filed an FIR against the attacker, Bhagirathi Sahoo and alleged that three students sustained burn injuries due to acid attack. Police rushed to the school and arrested the attacker, Bhagirathi Sahoo.
The culprit was booked under 307 and 326 of Indian Penal Code.
Palpable tension mounted in Dasarathapur on Thursday after this incident. At least 200 villagers blocked the main road at Dasarathapur and demanded strong action against the culprit who poured acid on four persons including three students.
Senior police officer rushed to Dasarathapur to check any untoward incident, said the police officer.
