Kendrapada, Dec 6 (Odisha.in) The forest officials of Bhitarakanika national park have arrested five suspected poachers on the charges of killing spotted deer and wild boars slyly entering the forest.
The poacher allegedly had laid down traps inside the mangrove forest to kill the animals. We seized two traps from the arrested poachers, Ajaya Kumar Jena the divisional forest officer of the park told Odisha.in.
The arrested poachers were identified as Arjun Samal, Prafulla Das, Maheswar Pradhan, ajaya Samal of Okilapala village and Saisaba Sahoo of village Kahnupur within the park.
After, killing a wild boar all the five taxidermists tried to flee after some forest guards noticed their presence in the forest.
But, the forest guards arrested them after chasing in the forest for two hours, added the forest officer.
