Kendrapada, December 4 (odisha.in) At least 300 lawyers of Kendrapada went on strike Tuesday demanding the establishment of family court and district judge court in Kendrapada.
Kendrapada was declared as a district in 1993. But the government is yet to establish family court and district judge court in the district as a result large numbers of people are facing lot of difficulties.
Lawyers have also demanded more land to expand the court areas.
The state government decided to shift the Sub-Jail near the court at Kendrapada to Barimula village for which the lawyers demanded before the government to hand over one acre land of the jail for the purpose of expansion of court areas.
Due to shortage of space, lawyers, litigants and judges are facing problems, said Surendra Nayak the president of district lawyers’ association.
A delegation of the lawyers apprised the district collector about their demands and submitted a memorandum to the collector.
