Bhadrak, November 26 (Odisha.in) A five years old girl in coastal district of Bhadrak created a record in the region after running 58 kilometers on 11th March this year in 8 hours.
However finance constraint has come her way as a hurdle to perform further although she has all the stamina and will.
“I am reading in class-III of Kuansh Primary School, Bhadrak, Orissa. My father Baikunthanath Das is serving as a Havildar in the Reserve Police Force at Bhadrak, the girl Rajeswari said in a letter to Odisha.in.
My father is also a National Volleyball Player. Besides my regular studies at the said school I am also a long distance runner like the other famous child runners, she said.
I ran a distance of about 40 kilometers from Bhadrak to Aradi Akhandalamani Temple in Bhadrak on 18th Oct’2006 within 5.30 hrs. Then I also ran a distance of 58 kms from Bhadrak to Biraja Temple in Jajpur on 11th March within 8 Hours.
I am very keen to participate in marathons and planned to run from Bhadrak to Khirochora Gopinath Temple at Balasore, Orissa a distance of Eighty Kilometers in near future”.
“But financial problems have come my way. My father-cum-coach is unable to provide me with the materials that marathoner needs” she writes. “My father has to maintain a family of six members with meager income” she said.
Please help me to get financial assistance so that I can fulfill my goal, she said.
