Bargarh, Nov 21 (Odisha.in) The central action committee of all western Orissa bar association here objected to the statement by the high court bar association over the proposed move of high court bench in western Orissa.
The high court bar association had recently given statements opposing the government move to set up a high court bench some where in the western and southern part of the state.
The chief minister Naveen Patnaik had recently written a letter to the High court chief justice requesting him to initiate process for that.
Establishment of a high court bench in western part of the state was a long standing demand of people. When the government is initiating steps the high court bar is opposing to it which is unfortunate, lawyer leader Sirish Balhava Mishra told Odisha.in.
We condemn the stand of high court bar, he said. We request them to refrain from such act because their activities may have impact on the friendly relationship between the people of western Orissa with coastal Orissa, he said.
This may give rise to the separatist feeling, he said. Since the chief minister Naveen Patnaik has written a letter supporting the cause of western Orissa we have decided in a recently held meeting under the chairmanship of Nidhuban bihari Panda not to demonstrate on November 28 that we had earlier scheduled.
A team of lawyer from western part of the state will soon visit state capital Bhubaneswar and obtain the copy of the letter the chief minister has written to the High court chief justice, he said. However the way the court boycott on Wednesday will continue, he said.
