Sambalpur, November19 ( Odisha.in ) Ganja ( cannabis ) worth Rs 3 crore were seized and destroyed at Kudanali village under Natideula police station in Sambalpur district on Monday during joint operation by excise, police, forest and revenue officials.
Laxminarayan Nayak, Collector Sambalpur told Odisha.in that the ganja was illegally cultivated over 20 acres of land in the village which is located on the border of Sambalpur and Angul districts about 110 kms away from Sambalpur.
There were over 20,000 matured plants ready for harvest.Earlier ganja worth Rs 8 crores were seized in 2004 from the area.
