Singapore, November 16 (odisha.in) “Singapore Oriya Community” celebrated Deepavali festive season along with other Oriya friends and families at Singapore.
It was celebrated at Kent Vale Communal Hall on 11th Nov 2007, Sunday from 5:00 PM to 10.00 PM and with the participation of all Oriya families residing in Singapore.
The hall was beautifully decorated with rangoli as well as lotus flowers and leaves on the walls led by Dr.Bijayalaxmi Mohanty and volunteers.
Hiranmaya Dash, Someswar Sharma and Mr Ranjit Kumar Panda were receiving the guests at the registration Desk.
The party started sharp at 6:00 pm amid less arrival of guests in the beginning with the lighting ceremony which was
inaugurated by Committee President Saorj Kumar Satpathy and Vice President Dr. Sanjib Kumar Panda with committee supporters Alok Kumar Panda, Sambit Kumar Mishra, Someswar Sharma, Hiranmaya Dash, Manoj Kumar Prusty, Mr Ranjit Kumar Panda, Mr Sabyasachi Mishra, Mr Bibihudatta Rout.
Cultural host were Alok Kumar Panda and Sambit Kumar Mishra and Bibhudatta Rout. They entertained the guests with eries of cultural activities.
A heart touching Odissi Dance was presented by Miss Pallavi Panda. Guests were served with starters and light snacks amidst Oriya music.
A Bharat Natyam Dance was presented by Miss Ankita Panda followed by another odissi dance by Puravi Panda Bharat Natyam Dance by Sanskiti, a hindi film music dance by Miss Ashmita Mohanty.
The participants also lit fire crackers in an open field environment outside the Kent Vale Communal Hall.
Hiranmaya Dash, Dr. Sanjib Kumar Panda, and Mr Someswar Sharma captured the sparkling moment in their camera.
Dinner stared around 9: 00 pm. Saorj Kumar Satpathy and Dr. Sanjib Kumar Panda were in-charge of the catering and looking after guest’s requirements during the dinner time.
