Kendrapada, November 9 (Odisha.in) The Lebanon government has recently paid $13,000 (five lakh, thirty seven thousand and seven hundred fifty two rupees) compensation amount to the widow of an Oriya worker Debesh Kumar Swain (42) at Khadipala village in Kendrapada.
Debesh was killed on 19th, July last yearin Beka Valley in Lebanon after Israeli planes bombed Lebanon. He was working as a supervisor in the Maliben Best glass factory in Beka Valley in Lebanon since eight years.
Earlier, the glass factory owner paid $ 20,000 (8.62 lakh) to Sakuntala Swain the widow of the deceased Debesh as compensation money.
Lebanon government had also announced to provide compensation. Since it was delayed tThe family members of the deceased demanded umpteen times to grant compensation amount to them as early as possible.
Even Sakuntala had written letters to the Ambassador of Lebanon in New Delhi , Prime Minister and President of India.
Recently the Lebanon government released the money and sent it to India which we have given to the lady, district collector Kashinath Sahu said.
