Bhubaneswar, Nov 03 (Odisha.in) Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik Friday Inaugurated Expo-Orissa,2007, a six day National Level Industry and Trade Fair here at IDCO Exhibition Ground , Unit-III, Bhubaneswar.
The fair would be concluded on 6th November, 2007.
The Expo-Orissa, third in the series, has been jointly organized by the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Development Insitute , Ministry of MSME government of India
With department of Industries, Government of Orissa , NSIC, KVIC, Coir Board and Orissa Small scale Industries Association.
On the occasion, stae Industries Minister, Biswa Bhushan Harichandan, Industries Secretary, A.Dalwai were present.
The Expo provides a platform for meaningful and substantive business interaction between the small and medium enterprise fraternity with the large and mega projects.
Inaugurating the fair, the Chief Minister said the event has been designed to encourage technical collaborations, joint ventures and long term vender-customer relationships.
Successful and sustainable market forming mechanisms between the small and medium enterprises of Orissa and the mega projects would add to the maturity and glamour of the stat’s industrial milieu, he hoped.
Stating that strong marketing relationships between the small industries and mega plants is necessary for ancillary industries to prosper, the chief minister urged the large projects to adopt small industries in their region and play the role of mother plants in the true sense of the word.
Informing that state industries department is on the job to form Plant Level Consultative Committtees to focus on ancillary and vendor development programmes, Patnaik said that state government has plans to prepare a policy frame work for target interventions towards supporting small industries.
He called upon the entrepreneurs to make best use of the emerging opportunities in the state within the ambit of the IPR-07 and added assured that state would strive to provide the best business operating environment.
Speaking on the occasion, the Industies Minister Harichandan said that the Expo includes a facilitation and information centre for one stop support to potential entrepreneurs.
The center would provide assistance in preparation of project profiles, feasibility reports, proposals to banks, obtaining necessary clearances and approvals. The micro sector project proponents will surely benefit greatly from such technical and consulting services, he hoped.
A good number of large industries, PSUs , government organizations, promotional agencies , banks and Financial institutions and large numbers of micro, small, medium enterprises , big private companies have participated in the fair.
