Kendrapada, October 27 (Odisha.in) World War II veteran, 92-year-old Narayan Prasad Das died on Friday evening in his village Narilo under Binjhapur block of Jajpur district.
He joined in British Indian army at the age of 17 in 1935 .During his 12 years service under British India and 10 years in Independence India he fought three wars including in the World War II from 1939 to 1945.
He was decorated with three medals, Burma Star, War Medal India and Independent Medal for his fighting spirit.

The service record of Narayan shows that he has participated in World War II from 1939 to 1945 in Burma and Malaysia. After independence he joined Indian army and rushed to Hyderabad in 1948 and since 29th, October, 1948 to 12th, September 1952 he was deployed in Jammu and Kashmir.
The deceased Narayan is survived by wife, three sons and four daughters.
