Jajpur, October 24 (Odisha.in) Bari police in the district of Jajpur district took one person into custody on charges of circulating counterfeit notes, police said Wednesday.
According to the police sources, the youth was purchasing some stationary from a betel shop at Barimaund during Durga immersion ceremony.
Taking advantage of the rush, the youth gave a counterfeit note of hundred rupees denomination to the shopkeeper. Being confirmed the receiving note fake; the shopkeeper informed it to the local police.
Police seized six counterfeit notes of hundred rupees denomination from former’s possession and took him into the custody. Later, a case has been registered in this connection and further investigation is on.
