Bhubaneswar, Oct 18 (odisha.in) On the eve of Durga Puja Orissa government announced to hike the house rent allowances to its employees working in major and medium towns.
The Chief minister Naeen Patnaik approved the proposal to effect the hike the House Rent allowance prospectively before leaving for New Delhi on an official four days visit Wednesday.
The government employees working in Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, and seven other Medium towns like Barbil, Keonjhar, Baripada, Paradeep, Dhenkanal, Jatni, and Rayagada would be benefited.
The increased house rent would be effective from November next to be paid along with their monthly salary.
According to the decision, now the government employees in Cuttack and Bhubaneswar would get 15 per cent House Rent allowance with five per cent hike, while the government employees of the seven other specified towns will receive a 2.5 per cent hike with total House rent being 7.5 per cent.
