Bhubaneswar,October 16 ( Odisha.in) Marathan kid Budhia Singh, has been admitted into the DAV Public School Chandrasekharpur and attended upper KG classes at his new school on Monday.
Earlier he was admitted into the B.J.B. English Medium School in Kalpana area, before his dispute with coach and mentor Biranchi Das.
The School has assigned a teacher specially for Bhudhia so that his progress can be monitored. ” His admission to the UKG is at present provisional. A teacher will monitor his progress after which it will be decided which class will be suitable for him,” a spokesman of the school said.
After his rift with coach Biranchi Das, Budhia had dropped out from school since he moved into his mother’s house in Salia Sahi slums.
Budhia, who ran into Limca Book of Records by covering the 65 km distance from Puri to Bhubaneswar on 1st May, 2006 is now staying at the Sports Hostel located at the Klinga Stadium and is under active care of famous coach Arun Das.
Keshab Satpathy , principal of the DAV school at Chandrasekharpur, told Odisha.in that the boy was admitted on ‘instruction from the state government’.
The school management was planning to exempt the tuition fee and provide dress and study material free of cost to Budhia.
Talking to Odish.in Budhia’s former coach Biranchi Das said that he has been extremely happy to know that Budhia has resumed his studies in a new school under a new environment and hoped that he would take up is studies seriously to build up his future as education is most vital for a sportsman also.
