Bhubaneswar, October 08 (odisha.in) On the third day of the on-going All India Railway Athletic Championship, one new record was created in the Men�s High Jump, while another record was bettered in the same event.
Hari Shankar Rai of Eastern Railway created a new Railway record in High Jump by jumping 2.21 mtrs beating his own previous record of 2.18 mtrs in 2006.
In the same event, Vinod Kumar of Western Railway bettered the previous record by a jump of 2.19 mtrs and bagged the silver medal. Bendict Starley of Southern Railway jumped 2.09 mtrs for his bronze medal.
In the Women’s High Jump, Shahana Kumari of South Western Railway stood first, Tessy Mol Joseph of Central Railway second and Chitra of Western Railway was placed in the third position.
In the Women’s Javelin Throw, Megha Pardesi of Western Railway, Saraswati of Southern Railway and Mukesh Kumari of Western Railway secured the top three positions respectively.
In the Women’s 5000 M run, Preja Sridharan of Southern Railway, O. P. Jaisha of Southern Railway and Kavita Rout of Central Railway stood the 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions respectively.
Similarly, in the Men’s 5000 M run, Sunil Kumar of Southern Railway, Sandeep Kumar of Central Railway and Kasinath Aswale of Western Railway stood 1st , 2nd and 3rd positions.
In the Women’s 100M Hurdles, G. G. Pramila of South Western Railway, Soma Biswas of Eastern Railway and Shankari of Southern Railway secured the 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions respectively.
Similarly, in the Men’s 110M Hurdles, T. Muthu Swami of Southern Railway, Rohit Hawal of South Western Railway and Karapu Swamy of Southern Railway become the 1st, 2nd and 3rd .
In the Men’s 400M run, Bibin Mathew of Southern Railway, Srijith P. S. of Southern Railway and Sriniwas Rao of South Central Railway bagged the top three positions respectively.
Similarly, Pinki Paramanik of Eastern Railway, Geetha of South Central Railway and Alean Samantha of South Central Railway secured 1st , 2nd and 3rd positions in the Women’s 400M run.
In the Women’s Triple Jump, Tessy Mol Joseph of Central Railway, Prajuha M. A. of South Western Railway, Kalpana Dass of Eastern Railway secured First, Second and third positions respectively.
In the Men’s Discuss Throw, the top positions were secured by Amrit Pal Singh of South East Central Railway, Simran Jeet Singh, DMW Patiala, and Suresh Kumar of Western Railway.
In the Mens 100 M Relay, Western Railway, Southern Railway and Nothern Railway stood First Second and third respectively. Similarly, in the Women’s 100M Relay, Eastern Railway, South Western Railway and Southern Railway secured the top three positions.
In the Women’s Heptahlon, J. J. Shobha of South Central Railway, G. G. Pramila of South Western Railway and Soma Biswas of Eastern Railway secured the top three positions.
In the Women’s Shot Put, Manpreet Kaur of DMW, Patiala, Sarawathi and N. Latha of Southern Railway secured the top three positions.
