Balasore, October 7 (odisha.in) Dr Binoy Kumar Das, Joint Director, Integrated Test Range, Chandipur in the district of Balasore has been appreciated by scientists across the globe for his paper on “Electro Optical Tracking System, its Past, Present and Future”.
Dash has got the appreciation for his paper in the Topic Systems Engineering and Test and Evaluation Conference (SETE 2007) held in Crystal Palace, Luna Park, Sydney held recently.
The conference was organized by Systems Engineering Society of Australia (SESA), International Test and Evaluation Association (ITEA) and INCOSE Region VI.
It was attended by more than 300 delegates; it is a matter of pride of ITR as well as the DRDO as a whole since it was a rare distinction for Dr Das of being the only scientist of India to be invited by the organizers for delivering his research in field.
Thirty scientists and researchers of international repute were invited from around the world for delivering talk on their research work.
Dr Das was allotted 20 minutes to deliver his lecture where he spoke about the growth of Electro Optics in last 200 years to a galaxy of scientists and experts.
“It was really a wonderful experience to represent India to such forum. Every time you attend a conference you learn new things as well you get a chance to demonstrate that India is no where lagging in technological advancement race’, Das told Odisha.in.
Das has attended several international and national conferences in the past and has received appreciation from scientific community for his work and researches.
He had received National award of Rs. 50,000 by NRDC for the technological development in Image Processing and Electro Optics for 1997-98. (the o nly recipient among 52 DRDO labs & ISRO centers).
He has also been awarded as Young Engineer National Award and Medallion by Indian National Academy of Engineering (INAE), Young Scientist Award by Orissa Bigyan Academy for contribution in Image Processing (Only one award for the State).
He has also been awarded as the ‘Scientist of the Year Award’ by DRDO for the year 2003 for outstanding contribution in the field of Electro Optics ( youngest to receive from DRDO and award was given by Prime Minister).
He has also been selected and featured in ‘Who is Who’ of the World by Marques, USA as a leader in Engineering for the Millennium.
