Bhubaneswar,Oct. 06 ( Odisha.in ): Samrudha Odisha , a state leval political party would be lauched on October 09, at Bolangir, according to it’s founder Jatish Chandra Mohanty.
Mohanty, an Andhra Pradesh cadre I.A.S. officer, who has taken volunteery retirement to join politics in Orissa told Odisha.in on Friday that he has decided to launch his party from Bolangir which is one of the poorest districts in Orissa.
Mohanty said that he would release the election manifesto of his party on October 09, which is the birth day of Utkalmani Gopabandhu Dash who had fraught throughout his life for the betterment of the people of Orissa.
He said the only objective of his party would be eradicate poverty and make Orissa the most prosperous State in the country within a target period of five years and would establish transparency in the administration. None of the M.L.A.s or Ministers of his party would resort to corruption at any cost.
The former bureaucrat who was close to former Chief Minister Chandra Babu Naidu and was in charge of a number of developmental departments during his tenure of service in A.P. Government said that his experience in the administration would help him to achieve his goal in making Orissa free from poverty within five years only.
During a chat with Odisha.in Mohanty said that he has already started the process of selection of candidates for the ensuing elections and sofar have finalised as many as 80 candidates.
His party would contest for all the 147 Assembly seats and was hopeful of forming the Government . Mohanty said that most of his candidates would be young with good social and educational background who are devoted to the cause of Orissa’s development.
The Samrudha Odisha founder said that he is getting tremendous response from all over the State while touring to different areas, particularly the backward districts. He said his party is ready to face the elections in the first part of 2008.
