Keonjhar, October 3 (Odisha.in) At least five activists of Bharatiya Janata Party in Keonjhar have tonsured their head protesting central government neglect to their district, party sources said Wednesday.
Raju Behera, Dambaru Behera, Dambaru Mohanta and Gopinath Ram and Binod Parida have tonsured their head as a part of the protest the Bharatiya Janata Party has launched on Sunday.
The party workers continued their economic blockade today in the district demanding early construction of NH-215 and requesting the government to start a passenger train.
For us the central United Progressive alliance government is dead. That is why we also performed death rituals of the UPA government and tonsured our head the way we do when some body dies, Raju Behera said.
We will also distribute free food to Brahmin and other people the way we distribute after 11 days of the death of our near and dear, he said.
The state government has incurred a loss of at least 15 crore rupees due to the blockade, district collector Bipin Bihari Mohapatra told Odisha.in.

On the other hand steel industries, sponge industries, iron crushers etc have incurred a loss of about 50 crores rupees due to the strike, sources in the industries said.
At least 20 thousand trucks became idle and many goods carrying train stopped.
