Balasore, Oct 2 (Odisha.in) Perturbed by the frequent allegations on relief distribution the Balasore district administration has set up a complaint box at the district headquarters to receive allegations regarding irregularities in the distribution of relief materials and public distribution system (PDS) items in the flood-hit areas.
Balasore Collector Alekh Padhiary said “Any one can lodge a complaint and drop it in the box. The complaints should be regarding relief, pilferage of food materials, spurious medicine, black marketing of PDS items or illicit liquor trading.”
Meanwhile, the administration has extended distribution of relief for four more days. “Earlier we had provided relief for three days. Now 27 Gram Panchayats (GP) which are still under floodwaters will be provided relief for next four days,” he added.
The collector has sought co-operation from industries and private institutions to tackle post-flood situations. He also has urged them to provide relief as per their capacity.
