Balasore, September 20 ( Odisha.in ) Three Under Trial Prisons – involved in as many as 7 highway robberies – decamped from Balasore jail scaling the boundary wall on Thursday around 11 a.m. .
One of their accomplice Arif Khan who had joined them to escape by has been arrested in injured condition and has been admitted into the district headquarters hospital here . Those who have escaped have been identified as Babu Khan, Arshadulla and Sk Zahid .
According to sources in the prison, the accused under trial prisoners scaled the wall by using two water storing drums .Meanwhile manhunt has been intensified to nab the absconders .
It may be noted on 30 May this year a gang of six were arrested by the police with much difficulties. The accused persons were involved in as many as 7 highway robberies and had assaulted several passengers .
The others arrested in the gang were Bausa Khan and Md Abu Basar are in the jail and were reportedly not associated in escaping from the jail.
The miscreants- all of them in their early twenties belong to Hamidi village under Baang police station of Haridpur district in Bangladesh .
