Bhubaneswar,September 14(Odisha.in) “God-Demon” an English translation of the Oriya play “Brahmarakshas” authored by the renowned novelist and eminent essayist Dr. Hrusikesh Panda was released here Friday at Hotel Marrion.
Kendra Sahitya Akademy has published the book translated by Lipipuspa Nayak. The book was formally inaugurated at a workshop organised by Kendriya Sahitya Akademy (KSA).
The workshop was presided by former President of Odisha Sahitya Akademy Dr.Rajkishore Mishra in the presence of KSA’s Gitanjali Chatterjee.
While Prof. P.Raja of Pandichery University delivered a speech on the launched book Prof. Bijaya Kumar Satpathy presented a paper on this.
Dr. H.K. Panda the author read out some of the paragraphs of translated God-Demon. Bipra Singh, Director Drama Division has also presented some of the dialogues of original Brahmarakshas.
Lipipuspa Nayak has expressed the objective of translating Brahmarakshas in English language. Prof. Mishra made an elaborate talk in English on the features & significance of God-Demon and its impact on future generation.
Literaur Biswaranjan Das and Sanjib Satpathy have read out the papers in the first session of the workshop.
The other litereaurs Sanghamitra Mishra, Radha Binod Nayak, Sudhir Kumar Sahoo & Prakash Mohapatra spoke on post 1990 plays under the Chairmanship of Acharya Bharananda in the second session.
Dr.Panda, in his writing, has not bowed down under the pressure of neo-colonialism rather tried to establish the Indian culture to the great extent. The writer is trying to fight against the ghastly political presence having their own vested interest. That’s why he invoked a revolution to the oppression in the society.
Hundreds of lother people including writers, poets, Reporters were present on the occasion. In the concluding session Lipipuspa Nayak gave vote of thanks to all on behalf of Kendra Sahitya Akademy.
