Kendrapada, September 12 (Odisha.in) The forest officials of Bhitarkanika national park have seized an eight feet long female python from the house a suspected poacher in village Rangadapatia within the park areas and busted a reptile smuggling racket, A.K. Mishra a senior forest officer said Wednesday.
Later, the forest officials kept the python seized Tuesday evening in a pen at the snake and crocodile research center in Dangamala within the park.
“Two years back, we kept a male python in a pen at Dangamala. The female python will be kept in the same animal enclosure for the mating of both the reptiles” he said.
