Bhubaneswar, August 3 (Odisha.in) Five railway stations in Orissa will be converted into model railway stations, new railway board chief K. C. Jena here said.
The model railway stations are the modernization of existing railway station. It would include renovating the facade of the station building and other improvements.
The stations which would be converted into model railway stations are Puri, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Sambalpur and Berhampur, Jena said during his first visit as the railway board chief to his home state here Sunday.
The railway will constitute special team to carry out this modernization work, he said.
Kalyan Coomar Jena has taken over as the new Chairman, Railway Board and ex-officio Principal Secretary to the Government of India, Ministry of Railways last week.
