New Delhi, August 30 (Odisha.in) Jyoti Sunita Kullu, former captain of national women’s hockey team was Thursday honoured by a group of non resident Oriyas in New Delhi on her being awarded the Arjuna Award by the president of India yesterday.
She was honoured in a brief function held at the resident of Mr.Jual Oram M.P. and National Vice President of BJP at Delhi. Oram and his wife Jhingia Oram, garlanded Jyoti and congratulated her for her success in the field of sports.
Mahendra pradhan,organising Secretary of Pravasi Oriya and Sangram Pattnaik and other members of the organisation, Mr.S.K.Rout, Secretary of Delhi Oriya lawyers Association, Prashant Verma, Vice President along with many members of the Association also presented bouquets to Jyoti Kullu.
Jual Oram termed Ms.Kullu’s achievement as a big morale booster for the women players of Orissa. He said Jyoti would continue to achieve more and will bring more glory to the state as well the country.
He expressed confidence that she would continue her hockey career till 2010 Commonwealth Games to be held in Delhi.
